With the passage of time, it has been confirmed that Queen Camilla Parker, since before her reign, has only had an uncomfortable relationship with members of the British royalty, mainly with the children of her husband, King Charles III, whom she married after he was widowed by the death of the beloved Princess Diana.
The current queen, for a long time, was seen simply as the ‘mistress‘ of Charles, so no one had respect for her, but over time they established a formal relationship, ascended to the throne, and were meticulously cleaning their image. However, the Duke of Sussex, Harry, as well as his brother, Prince William, do not see her as a mother.
Both princes treat her politely but do not see her as a mother figure; even Harry shared in his memoir ‘Spare‘ that, from his perspective, Camilla is “a woman capable of doing anything for her image and her benefit, a calculating, cold, and insensitive person“.
William has also made it very clear that for him, “Queen Camilla is simply my father’s wife, and for that reason, my children call her by her name and not grandmother“. On the other hand, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has maintained a diplomatic relationship with the King’s wife; she has always kept her distance because, in the past, she has felt judged by her.
