Bang Chan’s (one of the Stray Kids) sister, Hannah Bahng, was the talk of the town since the release of her cover of BTS’ Jungkook, “Seven.” Despite Hannah never wanting to be an idol, she released her first song “Perfect Blues,” and she is receiving a hate train from numerous K-Netizens.
Hannah sang the explicit version of “Seven” and immediately garnered attention on TikTok with more than 7 million views. The K-Netizens split in two, after not everyone was supportive of the artist’s cover.
Numerous K-Netizens wrote she has such a beautiful and sweet voice that doesn’t match explicit lyrics. In contrast, others just praised Hanna’s reckless attitude to sing whatever she pleases because she has a beautiful voice to do it.
The artist opened up and addressed the backlash around her cover on a live stream. She started by explaining she wanted to sing “Seven” because she wanted to do something fun and lighthearted, since she’ll be releasing a more emotional song later on.
She continued by thanking the people who supported her and liked the cover. However, she quickly noticed the hate train because of this particular version, and she wanted to use these negative comments as motivations to work even harder. In the end, she doesn’t want to stop doing what she loves the most.
@may_eonnie I’m also Army since 2014 but I don’t give hate comments to other singers. If you’re Army, you know that I was sick when I saw my idols also get hate comments like you did. Please respect anyone’s work and you know Hannah is a talented singer who stands alone. #hannahbahng #sevenjungkook #fyp ♬ Clouds (Piano) – Tollan Kim
