BANG magazine was in charge of organizing the fantasy literature festival, where the author of ‘Game of Thrones’ was present. Taking the opportunity, George RR Martin shared that he is working on ‘The Winds of Winter‘ but confesses to struggling with the book to move forward.

GRRM updated fans on the progress of the book, confessing that so far he has 1,100 pages. “Maybe I should start making shorter books” said the American writer, who also expressed that even though he struggles to make progress, “‘The Winds of Winter’ is what I spend more time on when I’m working“.

However, fans of the saga were not very happy with the update because, although it seems like a quite extensive process, Martin confessed at the end of 2022 that he had 1,000 pages, which means that in a year he did not advance much. The writer commented, “I’m fighting with it. This book is the son of a mother“, and for that reason, it has taken so long.

But for the tranquility of the viewers, he confessed that ‘House of the Dragon‘ has already finished filming the second season and will soon begin with the third. He also said that he has at least eight spin-offs in development, but for now only ‘Tales of Dunk and Egg‘ has the green light.
