Lia of ITZY first announced in September that she would be taking a break from activities with her group due to health reasons. This time, her hiatus was confirmed to be extended to next year, as she was diagnosed with a mental illness.

Through an update, both Lia and her company, JYP Entertainment, confirmed that the idol had been diagnosed with anxiety disorder. As a result, she will be absent from ITZY in 2024, this includes the production of a new album and the start of a tour in January.

The idol also took ITZY’s Instagram account and said that “recovering my health” was a priority. Lastly, she dropped a new track titled “Blossom” as a goodbye-for-now to fans. This song will be included on ITZY’s upcoming album.

“I promise to return more improved and healthier, enough to repay the support given by MIDZY during this time we cannot spend together!

Thank you for always trusting and waiting for me,” she said in a letter translated from Korean.

Get well soon, Lia!
