The beloved actor gained everyone’s heart because of his groundbreaking character in the American sitcom, “Friends,” and Adele wanted to share her feelings by paying him tribute in her Vegas residency concert.
Just hours before it Perry’s death was confirmed, Adele took time to pay homage to Perry, because he played an important role in the artist’s life. During the concert, she sang “When We Were Young.” She introduced the song by stating she never met Matthew but his friend’s character, Chandler Bing, will be always part of her childhood memories.
The British artist shared one of her childhood memories. One of her friends named Andrew made a perfect Chandler impression that always made her laugh even if she was having a bad day. This particular impression stuck with Adele through the years, and she will remember it for the rest of her life.
In addition, Adele wanted to address Matthew’s personal struggles, which were discussed in his memoir, “Friends Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.” She stated he was incredibly brave in sharing his struggles with addiction and sobriety. She emphasized he had an impact on her life. Adele recently shared she’s three months sober, and this might be one of the main reasons.
