Renowned actor Bill Nighy, who played an iconic character in the successful ‘Pirates of the Caribbean‘ saga, recently shared that he has unpleasant memories of his time in this production.
The currently 73-year-old actor was part of the cast of these legendary sagas, playing the famous character Davy Jones, who became unforgettable in the industry due to his unusual appearance, since his body was made up of many tentacles, so he had to use a motion-capture suit.
Despite the great success of these films starring actor Johnny Depp, and the acclaim that Nighy’s performance received from film critics, the performer remembers this experience as one of the worst moments he has ever experienced.
“When I arrived I realized that I wasn’t going to have a suit like everyone else, so I set myself the task and called the wardrobe department and I asked them, ‘Is my suit going to be ready soon?’ And they said, ‘No one has he told you? You must wear a special suit with white spots everywhere, a skull cap, and 250 dots painted on your face“, said the actor, who noticed that this would be a costume that would make him look bad.
This aspect caused the actor to be rejected by many members of the production, which consists of 5 films in total, during filming, as he revealed in the following statement:
“My teammates didn’t eat with me, it was very sad, the team just said hello, hello, and left because it was very sad to see a middle-aged man dressed as someone different“, ending up feeling alone by not being able to relate with comfort with his colleagues.
Despite this bad experience that he lived during the filming of this successful saga by The Walt Disney Company, this was the one that catapulted him to fame and led him to be part of the culture, being one of the most remembered characters in history.
