The world was completely exposed and put in check after the COVID pandemic crisis, as death rates increased around the world, causing the dynamics that people were already counting on to change completely.
For more than 2 years, people were threatened by a virus that changed the way of seeing everything, thousands of people died around the world and people thought it would be over, but now there is a new virus with high mortality rates that could put the world in danger again.
After COVID we already have a new extremely dangerous virus.
The Nipah virus is an extremely dangerous pathogen that has raised public health concerns because of its ability to cause severe and deadly outbreaks in humans. This virus can cause fever, encephalitis and pneumonia in both humans and animals. It is an emerging disease that started in domestic pigs in Malaysia and Singapore in 1998 and 1999.
Various domestic animals, such as dogs, cats, goats, horses and sheep, have witnessed infection. However, since inception, it has mainly affected humans worldwide.
The virus is found in bat urine, as well as in feces, saliva and birth fluids. These excretions and secretions are believed to have caused infection in pigs and then spread rapidly among intensively farmed pigs and then to humans.
The encephalitic syndrome of human infection is characterized by fever, headache, drowsiness, disorientation, mental confusion, coma and possibly death.
Nipah infection can be asymptomatic in humans, and symptoms can range from mild to severe illness. So far, six cases have been confirmed, of which four are being treated and two have died.
