PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) accused BTS via social media of contributing to animal cruelty due to their promotions for McDonald’s. The BTS x McDonald’s collaboration meal officially launched on May 26, and the international fast food chain also released a commercial with the Big Hit Music group.

Soon after, PETA Asia began accusing BTS of promoting cruelty to animals.

The animal rights organization posted a picture on their Instagram account in which they said: “The association with McDonald’s on BTS’s food shows that BTS doesn’t care about chickens that suffer and cut their throats by McNuggets. Promote love, not cruelty!“.

The organization also shared on their Twitter an image of a fan holding a sign that reads: “This fan was disappointed. BTS, stop promoting dead chickens!
