The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, better known as SAG-AFTRA went on a strike on July 24 because of an ongoing labor dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP.) Since none of the parties have reached an agreement, the dispute keeps increasing, a new syndicates emerge to join the cause.

The media outlets recently reported a new syndicate was founded solely with the purpose of expressing the labor abuse suffered by various departments within Hollywood production studios. The 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike seems to have no end and might affect the entertainment industry if they don’t find a mutual agreement.

Variety Magazine reported that a new syndicate led by Mark Pach was founded, which is composed of a great portion of animation and special effects employees. Pach released a statement explaining their current situation.

Today, courageous Visual Effects workers at Walt Disney Pictures overcame the fear and silence that have kept our community from having a voice on the job for decades. With an overwhelming supermajority of these crews demanding an end to ‘the way VFX has always been,’ this is a clear sign that our campaign is not about one studio or corporation. It’s about VFX workers across the industry using the tools at our disposal to uplift ourselves and forge a better path forward”.

Disney’s fans around the world showed their concern on social media because this is a major portion of the employees of animated films which is the blueprint of Disney and this could lead up to the complete cessation of activities for a while for the company.
