Barbie movie to be re-released in theaters with new unreleased scenes
Barbie’s success is far from over, it seems, since there are more and more news around Mattel. Not only the confirmation of more movies of this universe of toys, but now Barbie would have a re-release in theaters with unreleased material, which will only extend and excite more the public of the doll.
The world was painted pink with the arrival of Barbie, thrilling young and old with the story of the iconic doll, becoming one of the most important movies in recent years and now, as if that were not enough, it would return to theaters with never-before-seen scenes.
According to Variety magazine, the one-week limited release of this new version will begin on September 22nd. The IMAX theatrical release will also include exclusive new post-credits footage selected by Oscar-nominated director Greta Gerwig, who directed Barbie and has become the highest-grossing filmmaker in history.
“As a special thank you to ‘Barbie’ fans, we are excited to share a little more of our cast and crew’s incredible work by adding new special images that we hope audiences will enjoy. If anything was missing from this winning Barbie strategy, it was being able to bring Greta’s unique vision to premium Imax screens in the super-competitive summer runner.”
Many say this is nothing more than a marketing ploy and a very clever way to get more revenue and thus surpass Super Mario Bros: The Movie as the most successful movie of 2023.
