Prince William accused of sexist behavior with the UK’s female soccer team

MFW, British feminist group made headlines after accusing the heir to the throne of having sexist views. The allegations came after the prince William released a statement wishing good luck to the United Kingdom’s female football team for their final game in the Female World Cup, which took place between July and August of this year.

MFW also dragged the British ex-soccer player and renowned personality David Beckam into the conversation, accusing him of sharing prince William’s sexist views after he posted a very similar video.

The organization claims that the prince’s speech was openly sexist. In the video he posted on social media addressing the sports event, the prince included his daughter, the princess Charlotte, which seemed to be the breaking point of the accusations.

The MFW asked the prince why he only included his daughter in his speech video, and not his two sons, suggesting that he only included her because he may think that ‘boys can’t have female role models’. The statement accusing the prince and David Beckham was rather short but still sparked a controversy in the media, part of the public backfired, accusing MFW of being extremists and overthinking things.

The female empowerment group stated that the speech included sexist microaggressions, and said that they have ‘had it with the bias and lack of truth in most of our mainstream media.’

The prince William, nor David Beckham, have addressed the controversy, and the MFW has now deleted their social media posts regarding the situation.
