After Meghan and Harry’s interview with the well-known journalist Oprah Winfrey, the response of the royal family to the controversial revelations was expected.
Though neither Kate nor William spoke a phrase, Queen Elizabeth was silent and was reluctant to any statement but, now, she has decided to reply.
Through a statement, Buckingham Palace claimed to be “very sad” by what the former royals said. And it is that during the interview Meghan commented that there were “concerns about Archie’s possible skin color”, and that palace officials sent her that concern when they told her that the little one was not going to receive a title or protection from the crown.
Despite this, no member of the royal family had officially responded to the statements, but Queen Elizabeth has made the difficult decision of being the one in charge of giving an official response to the public, assuring the following:
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the past few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly race, are troubling.
While some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be discussed in private by the family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very loved members.”
Likewise, Queen Elizabeth assured that she will investigate even the background of who were the members of the royal family who questioned the possible skin color of the little baby Archie.
“The issue of race is undoubtedly worrisome for me, and that is why I will take a concise investigation of what they were responsible for having made such degrading confessions about my great-grandson”.
The actress Meghan Markle has stated several times that she is with Queen Elizabeth the only person within the royal family with whom she managed to have a more or less stable relationship during her stay in British royalty.
