In recent days, it has been revealed that the main character, played by Nicholas Galitzine in the popular series entitled ‘Red, White & Royal Blue‘ is inspired by Prince Harry, characterizing this member of royalty in the romantic production based on the novel by Casey McQuiston.
In a recent interview with ‘PEOPLE‘ magazine, Galitzine reveals that his character is true to his own identity and his true self, yet a part of him is inspired by the youngest son of King Charles III, and that he fully understands the comparisons, both being “rogues” and “rebels” within the royal house.
However, contrary to what many would believe, this series has not parodied aspects of British royalty, in fact the same actor has said exclusively for the well-known media that his character struggles to balance and honor the royal tradition.
“I think, especially in the last five years, Prince Harry and Prince William have remained in the public eye. Especially Harry, who has been this kind of rebellious rogue among all the other royals who always act like if they were being forced, this is perhaps a comparison that people will make“, Galitzine said.
On the other hand, the actor also emphasized that his character, Prince Henry, is similar to both royal princes, both Prince Harry and his older brother Prince William, since royal duty comes first in his story, even before love.
“To be honest, I think Henry has William stuff to a lesser extent as well. In much of the story, duty takes precedence. This obligation that he’s been given since he was a toddler comes before and he can’t put his love first“.
