The prince William, 41, and the prince Harry, 38, are not in good terms at the moment. After a very public family drama in 2018 that involved their wives, the two brothers seem to have lost all contact with one another, and what was once a strong bond was torn apart, as shown in Harry’s Netflix documentary. However, the younger has found someone to fill William’s place, and he’s already being called ‘Harry’s older brother’ by the royal followers.
The family rift started as a little crack in the wall when Harry confirmed his plan to marry his then girlfriend, the American actress Meghan Markle, despite William’s warnings not to marry her. The drama was fed with multiple controversies, such as Meghan eclipsing William’s wife, Kate Middleton, in public events. The rivalry escalated to a reported physical aggression from William to Harry, and it ended up with him and Meghan leaving the royal family in January of 2020, blaming the harassment from UK press and the royal limitations for their departure, though the family brawl was rumored to be the real reason. They have, since then, not been able to fix their relationship and are currently in bad terms.
In light of that, Harry had to find another older partner to help him with his projects, and as it turns out, Nacho Figueras, 46, was the friend the prince needed. They had already been friends for quite some time, and bonded on their shared passion for polo. Figueras is a renowned Argentinian polo player and an ambassador for Ralph Lauren and Black Watch.
Figueras has been growing closer to Harry ever since he left the Royal Family. Currently, they are both on a trip to Japan promoting the prince’s benefic organization, Sentebale, that spreads HIV/AIDS awareness and helps people with the illness. There, the two married men have been spending a lot of time together, making plans and visiting touristic places. They even found time go shopping, which we know because Figueras posted a photo of them on a clothing store in Tokyo with the caption “Shopping for our wives”. You’ll find this picture in the right.
They are heading to Singapore next, where they will also be promoting Sentebale. In the past, William and Harry were together to many events of this type, supporting each other in their projects, but now, it looks like Figueras is taking over the role of the older brother.
