Prince William and Kate Middleton have always been two of the most beloved royal members due to their constant charity work and great dynamic as a couple. After many years in the public eye, people started to notice that they are obsessed with the color blue, and here is the interesting reason that explains why.
Over the years, royal followers noticed a pattern in the way the royal couple usually dresses: they mostly wear blue clothes to royal events. As a result, blue became the standard color for the Prince and Princess of Wales. In the same vein, the presence of this color in their outfits has gradually increased throughout the years, making it easier to notice this in the last few years.
However, there is an explanation for this. According to fashion historian Rosie Harte in her book ‘The Royal Wardrobe’, this color has always been a staple of royalty. “Blue is a more palatable alternative to the colours traditionally associated with royalty, being far less aggressive than red and significantly more conservative than purple.”
On top of that, Harte explained that blue symbolizes both peace and modernity which are characteristics that Prince William and Kate Middleton want to be associated with as they will eventually become the king and queen of the United Kingdom, which explains why they usually wear blue in their official portraits and public appearances.
