Princess Lilibet, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle’s daughter, celebrated her second birthday on June 4 with her family in California. However, the British Royal Family did not attend the celebration and they did not publicly congratulate her either. Some people think that this could be the consequence of Harry and Meghan’s criticism towards some of the royals and now there is a whole debate on social media about it.
Over the weekend, the royal couple threw a birthday party at their home in Montecito, California to celebrate Lilibet’s second birthday. It is being said that various celebrities attended the celebration but no one from the Royal Family was present nor they addressed her birthday publicly. It has now been over a year since Lilibeth last saw her relatives in the United Kingdom.
According to The Mirror, Buckingham Palace only offers public congratulations to members who are currently working for the British monarchy. As is widely known, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave up on their royal titles in 2020 and moved to the United States which would explain why the Royal Family did not address their daughter’s birthday.
Despite this, the newspaper also confirmed King Charles III did send a gift to the young princess so this special date was not completely overlooked. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the Royal Family is a troubled one due to all the controversies but royal experts believe that neither party wants to continue being involved in the drama so reconciliation might still be possible.
