Prince William had a good time in the Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium earlier this week. Although his attendance at the event caught several people by surprise, it is well-known that he enjoys sports. On top of that, he also had the honor of awarding the winning team, Chelsea.
Just before the kick-off, the new anthem of the United Kingdom ‘God Save the King’ was played. The Prince of Wales also took the time to greet all the players and wish them luck. In the end, Manchester United was defeated by Chelsea with a goal from Sam Kerr.
Many of the soccer fans who attended the match noticed Prince William’s support and felt very proud after watching the future king of the United Kingdom enjoying sports as much as them. In addition, William had a nice moment with the winning team’s players as he was the one who awarded them with the victory medals.
Last summer, he also awarded the Lionesses after winning the UEFA European Women’s Football Championship. This does not come as a surprise, as William has always been supportive of women’s soccer in England and many royal followers are constantly praising him because of it.
