The rumors have been confirmed, Camilla Parker will be the legitimate queen of the United Kingdom and not the queen consort, as it was originally reported. The wife of the King Charles III will have the same level of power and status of the late and beloved queen Elizabeth II, with that, Camilla will have a strong say in every royal decision. She, however, does not count with the support of the public, at all.
The Buckingham Palace showed yesterday the official royal invitations for the historic crowning ceremony of the king Charles III, what caught the attention of the public the most was not the decoration of the envelope though, but rather a more controversial aspect of the letter.
As it turns out, based on the invitations that have been leaked, Camilla would be officially called “Queen” and not “Queen consort”. This has sparkled a huge controversy and the rage of a great part of the British public, that refuses to acknowledge that she, one of the people who hurt the beloved Princess Diana, rises to the crown.
The polemic invitation is printed on recycled cardboard, and it’s ornamented with a floral theme and multiple references to the Green Man, from the British folklore. Its header reads: “The coronation of his majesty the King Charles III and the Queen Camilla”.
A source close to the royal family has explained the details of why Camilla Parker will be known as queen from now on.
“Queen Camilla is the appropriate title to accompany the “King Charles III” in the invitation. The coronation is the appropriate moment to start using “Queen Camilla” officially”, the source added. “All the last queen consorts were known as queens, plus their casual name”.
After the invitation leaked to the public, it was met with huge disapproval, as people do not want the polemic personality to be head of most important monarchy in Europe.
