Queen Letizia of Spain used her legal team to make sure that King Felipe VI won’t leave her homeless in case of a divorce. The shocking information was revealed by journalist Pilar Eyre who has been reporting on the marital crisis between the monarchs of Spain since a couple of years ago.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the royal couple filed for divorce. This does not come as a surprise since their relationship has been going downhill for a few years now. However, there was something in regard to the divorce settlement agreement which Queen Letizia forced King Felipe VI to sign that caught the attention of everyone.
According to Eyre, Letizia demanded a compensatory pension and ownership over two properties in case they got divorced someday. Felipe did not hesitate to sign it up as he thought their marriage would last forever. There are reports that the reason for their divorce is disagreement regarding her older daughter’s future, Princess Leonor. Other sources claim that Felipe had an affair with another woman.
As of today, there has not been any official statement to confirm the controversial rumors. Despite this, King Felipe VI decided to go on vacation to Palma de Mallorca on his own which, according to royal experts, would confirm that his relationship with Letizia has come to an end.
