Kate Middleton and Sophie Rhys-Jones are more similar than you’d think. They like the same hobbies, are in the same circle of friends, and have a royal husband. The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Edinburgh have a solid relationship regardless of the 10-year age gap between the two.
Sophie married Prince Edward in 2000 and was accused of wanting to benefit from the royal family. Despite this, she decided to prove them wrong and devoted herself to the royal duties and would later become a great ally to Kate when she went through the same situation.
According to a source close to the royal family, the relationship between the two couples has not always been good. Prince Edward and Prince William had a heated confrontation before he met Kate in 2002. Back then, Edward had a television company, Ardent Productions, which focused on royal matters and he decided to sneak into William’s private life and took photos of his life as a student.
William confronted him and asked his father, King Charles III, to close the company immediately. Ardent Productions was going through a financial crisis and had been highly criticized due to their low efforts which led to Edward leaving the company the same year.
However, this did not affect the friendship between their wives. Both of them are kind and do not like to be involved in any kind of drama, projecting confidence and a stable image.
