Prince Harry has shared more shocking details about his life. The Duke of Sussex had a one-hour interview with Canadian therapist and mental healh expert Gabor Maté on Saturday. The two men deep dived into Harry’s controversial book, “Spare“, and talked about how it affected his life.
During the conversation, they talked at length about trauma, vulnerability and healing. The Prince insisted that he is not a victim and he is not seeking sympathy from anyone. He revealed more information about his past substance abuse and how he distanced himself from cocaine, saying he felt no benefit from it.
As the interview went on, Harry also talked about his wife, Meghan Markle, and his kids. He is very gr8ateful with her for saving his life and helping him break free from the control of the royal family. He also wants to make sure to give his children as much love and affection as he can in order to compensate for what he lacked as a child.
Surprisingly, the conversation was not centered on Harry’s relationship with his father, King Charles III, or his brother, Price William, which has deteriorated over the last few years. One of the standout moments from the interview was when Maté diagnosed him right on the spot. According to the doctor, Harry suffers from ADD, PTSD, anxiety and depression.
He explained that Harry’s issues stem from his childhood and that the death of his mother, Princess Diana, is the main factor. The Prince acknowledged that he had also been diagnosed with PTSD by his own personal therapist but he has already been working on it. He hopes to raise awareness about mental health by sharing his own experiences.
