As soon as Wednesday’s series arrived on the world’s most famous streaming platform, Netflix, people went crazy. The Tim Burton-directed series quickly became a hit and made Wednesday one of the most watched series ever on the platform in quick time.
Once it reached success and became a trend on social networks, to the extent that Lady Gaga joined the trends on platforms such as Tiktok, rumors of the cancellation of a second season arrived, due to the purchase of MGM by Prime Video. At the time of production, Wednesday was part of MGM, so it was doubtful whether the second season of the series would be canceled or would change house being Amazon the new one.
Now, after great doubts about what would happen with the new favorite series, new information is coming out and in the best way. Netflix shared a video talking about the future of Wednesday.
The confirmation came in an exclusive interview with Tudum from the showrunners/executive producers and a video announcing the second season:
“It’s been amazing to create a series that managed to connect with people all over the world. We’re so excited to continue Merlina’s torturous journey into season two; we want to take that dive into another season to explore the weird and spooky world of Nevermore.
We just have to make sure Merlina hasn’t emptied the pool first.”
