Ricky Martin’s nephew, who accused him a few months ago of abuse, will not be able to go near the singer again for a year, after the protection order was extended in favor of the famous singer.
Ricky Martin extends order against his nephew
After the accusations, the singer came out to defend himself and also sued his relative and the authorities determined that the singer was not guilty, so the singer requested a protection order against his nephew, which was extended.
The Court of First Instance of San Juan Puerto Rico granted Ricky Martin that the protection order in his favor would remain in force for one year.
Said order was granted by the same Court last September 8, one day after Ricky sued his nephew for extortion and damages.
Ricky Martin’s spokeswoman, Helga Garcia, revealed to the program ‘El nuevo día’ that the singer’s lawyers showed evidence to request the extension of the protection order.
As a consequence, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez Martin, will not be able to approach the singer, so he must refrain from approaching, harassing, pursuing, intimidating or any attempt of contact with members of his family.
“We came out on top and the court determined that it was meritorious to give Ricky the protection order, under the Stalking Law.
So this boy cannot continue to harass him,” Helga Garcia said of the Boricua.
Although Dennis Yadiel had the opportunity to testify in court, he was not given the opportunity to testify, so the protection order was granted to Martin.
The Puerto Rican performer’s spokeswoman also informed that, with this order, Ricky Martin’s nephew has four restraining orders in favor of four different people.
The singer’s legal defense mentioned in a statement that the young Dennis Yadiel is going through mental health problems, which would have led him to try to “tarnish the reputation” of his uncle
