TXT fans protest after the announcement of auditoriums for concerts in the USA

This 2022 is the year of the revival of K-pop concerts and the opportunity for some groups, such as TXT (Tomorrow X Together), to experience the first world tour of their career. BIG HIT Entertainment‘s ‘junior’ group will visit seven cities in the United States, but the confirmation of venues has disappointed fans.

On July 7, TXT will perform in Chicago at the Rosemont Theatre; on the 9th in New York, at the Hulu Theatre; on the 12th in Atlanta, at the Fox Theatre, and later at similar venues in Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

After the venues where TXT would hold their North American concerts were announced, MOA trended on Twitter to get the agency’s attention. The hashtags “#WHAT_THE_FCK_BIGHIT”, “#TXT_IS_BIGGER_THAN_YOU_THINK” gathered more than 30,000 tweets.

The reason for the protest is that the selected auditoriums have an average capacity of 4,000 to 8,000 spectators, a capacity that could be quickly exhausted by fans. For fans it seems that “the organizers would be underestimating” the impact that TXT has to fill a larger venue.

MOA highlighted that TXT has managed to gather more than a million pre-orders for their upcoming album ‘Minisode 2: Thursday’s Child‘ and that the boyband already has a three-year artistic career with a solid international fandom.

Due to a previous photo from the Hulu Theater in New York, fans of the South Korean group are also concerned about the safety of the artists. They fear that they may get injured or have accidents when dancing on a small stage.

So far, the organizing producer (Powerhouse) has not given any further updates on a change in the venues of the tour. Ticket pre-sale begins May 19th.
