BLACKPINK reigns supreme once again, topping the December girl group brand reputation rankings. Not far behind, aespa and IVE continue to hold strong, thanks to their strong musical years. The rankings are meticulously compiled by the Korean Business Research Institute and include an analysis of various metrics. For example, media presence, consumer engagement, and community perception, over the past month.
Interestingly, BLACKPINK has not been active musically since 2022, and went on tour on 2023. This year, the group members Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo have mostly focused on their solo careers. However, it seems that the impact of their own projects has also boosted BLACKPINK’s popularity as a group.
Meanwhile, aespa has had one of the strongest hits in K-Pop thanks to “Supernova,” coming from their album “Armaggedon” The song has become both an important addition to the girl group’s catalog and a highlight for the genre in 2024. With a busy musical agenda, aespa also debuted in the Japanese market with “Hot Mess” and released a mini-album “Whiplash.” However, none of those captured the impact of “Supernova.”
Similarly, IVE released their mini-album “HEYA,” with a song of the same name and another single titled “Accendio” this year. They have also dropped a few stand-alone tracks such as “Supernova Love,” “Summer Festa” and Japanese track “Crush.” However, it looks like their main focus was “HEYA” and their global tour. “Show What I Have.”
