During their acceptance speech for Record of the Year at the Melon Music Awards 2024, (G)I-DLE ‘s Soyeon revealed that all five members had officially renewed their contracts with CUBE Entertainment. This announcement silenced recent rumors about potential disbandment, giving a chilly feeling to their fanbase, also known as NEVERLAND.
In her speech, Soyeon addressed the speculation of the girl group disbanding: “
“My contract expired, and these days there are many articles being released that are like ‘(G)I-DLE is disbanding’ or ‘(G)I-DLE is over.’ However, not me alone, but the five of us all decided to renew our contracts together. We had the discussion before coming on stage today. It’s not just me, and yes, it’s all five of us members together.”
Her emotional declaration assured fans that the group’s bond remains unshaken. The rapper and singer also promised that the group will continue creating good music in 2025 and beyond, making NEVERLAND excited about upcoming projects. Soyeon, known for being the leader and the creative force behind the group, has helped create gender-pushing and fierce concepts with members Yuqi, Minnie, Miyeon, and Shuhua.
