Prince William adores Kate Middleton’s family, but there’s one thing he can’t handle: their ultra-competitive game nights. While the royals have a little friendly rivalry thanks to polo, equestrian events, and Highland Games—the Middletons take winning to a whole new level! Royal author Christopher Andersen revealed that Kate’s upbringing was all about a “win-at-all-costs” mentality, making family game nights at Anmer Hall intense enough for William to avoid whenever possible.
And Anderson didn’t leave it there! During his appearance on “Walking the Dog” podcast he revealed that Kate Middleton’s competitive personality has passed down to their kids. George, Charlotte, and Louis:
“Now, this trait has been passed on to George, Charlotte, and Louis—all of whom have been taught to give it their all. Unfortunately, this often leads to heated arguments about cheating and breaking the rules, which, in turn, leads to the occasional game board being tossed and pieces sent flying.”
And just like that, we all know the tea: Prince William loves a little challenge, but the Middletons (and now his own children) are taking things a bit too far! It’s safe to say that Prince William might be “busy” somewhere else when these occasions come.
