When it came to welcoming Archie into the world, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had a master plan to keep it all under wraps! As Prince Harry spills in his recently re-released memoir, “Spare,” the couple snuck off from Frogmore Cottage to dodge the press. A week past her due date, Meghan Markle went to Portland Hospital for a check-up, and just like that, Archie was on his way. Within two hours, they were back home with their baby boy, all thanks to this top-secret plan.
“We got into a nondescript people-carrier and crept away from Frogmore without alerting any of the journalists stationed at the gates,” the Prince confessed.
Inside the delivery room, the Duchess of Sussex was given laughing gas, which Prince Harry inhaled to ease off some tension! She prepared the environment with Sanskrit hymns and a bath surrounded by electric candles. The best part? A framed photo of Princess Diana, which Meghan Markle herself packed as a tribute.

After their sweet delivery escape, Prince Harry shared the birth news outside the stables at Windsor. And while Prince Archie’s arrival was sort of a covert operation, it was still beautiful and personal. Meghan and Harry’s were just how they wanted them to be—private, heartfelt, a little bit comedic, and sneaky!
