There is no doubt about the incredible boom that K-pop projects are generating in South Korea. However, what nobody expected at all, was the international impact that BTS would have and the relevance that they would obtain within the pop culture of our times.
It is not only their music or the marketing that revolves around them, but the movement that their fandom created and even became a weapon against Trump’s misinformation on Twitter to overshadow it.
That is why today, after releasing “My Universe” in collaboration with BTS, Chris Martin shared during an interview for the documentary made around this song, his feelings regarding the k-pop phenomenon:
“It is important to accept that Korean music is currently the most important in the world and not Western”
“It is encouraging for those of us who believe that the world is one big family, and being able to work with the most important band in that family is an opportunity to further grow the musical spectrum of this industry”
The track, which has already amassed 36 million views on YouTube, has become a worldwide sensation thanks to the power that both projects bring: one pulls more to the west side while the other to the east.
However, both are already of international sizes and that is why it was obvious that since their premiere on September 28, they have achieved a resounding success.
Check out the song over here! Is this a new stage in Coldplay’s career? Will there be more collaborations of the type in the near future?
