GOT7’s Yugyeom, one of our favorite 97-liner dancing machines, just dropped a major hint about starting his military service earlier than expected. During his “Trusty Tour” stop in Sydney, Australia, on November 1, Yugyeom teased fans with an intriguing comment: “I’ll come back in two years… because, you know, in Korea.” And just like that, fans were left gasping at the possibility of an early enlistment.
it seems like yugyeom will be enlisting early,,, he technically doesn't need to go until the end of 2026 but he said he'll be back in two years time — so he's probably enlisting with youngjae then? pic.twitter.com/Gj6TSjpLUu

For those who need context, the 97-liner squad is a group of male idols, including BTS’ Jungkook, ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, GOT7’s BamBam and Yugyeom, and NCT’s Jaehyun. These icons typically push enlistment as far down the timeline as possible. But between Jungkook enlisting in December 2023 and Jaehyun jumping into service on November 4, it seems our 97-line faves are all about not wanting to wait.

And with these idols serving, Yugyeom might be next on the list. Since leaving JYP Entertainment in 2021, GOT7 has focused on solo works. With Jay B and Jinyoung already enlisted, fans wonder if Yugyeom’s enlistment will extra waiting time for GOT7 as a group. It’s clear the military service dominoes are falling faster than expected! Aghases, better brace yourselves.
