LE SSERAFIM is making headlines with their upcoming mini-album and a court case. Yes, you read that right! The girl group’s label, Source Music (a HYBE subsidiary), has been under fire from two malicious YouTubers spreading false rumors. But boom, plot twist! These internet trolls will not last much longer thanks to a recent ruling from the US Court of California.

On August 23, 2024, South Korean media revealed that HYBE’s appeal to unmask the aforementioned cyberbullies has been approved by the Northern District Court of California. With this, both the agency and LE SSERAFIM score a major win by protecting the fierce quintet from online defamation.

Initially, the label aimed for a criminal lawsuit but was ultimately denied. Following this, they shifted their focus to a civil lawsuit, and the California court granted their plea on August 20. With this, HYBE can now work with Google to confirm the identity of these YouTube trolls.

This legal victory paves the way for future groups both in South Korea and internationally. It also sends a strong message to anyone attempting to defame artists online, making them think twice before posting false information. Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM continues teasing their upcoming mini-album “CRAZY” out this month.
