King Charles III has successfully completed thousands of royal duties through his journey inside the Royal Family. The then-prince’s most important duty was becoming the Film Institute patronage in 1983 and he is still holding his position proudly.

The British Film Institute preserves the Royal Collection of Film, the collection dates from 1931 and consists of more than 1000 individual reels. They also revealed during their 25th anniversary of the opening of London’s BFI Imax that King Charles III has retained his patronage of the BFI.

“We are honored to have the Royal Patronage of HM King Charles III and grateful for the support he has already given us as Patron as The Prince of Wales for 45 years, showing his commitment and passion for film along the way. We take our responsibility for caring for the Royal Collection in the BFI National Archive very seriously and are dedicated to ensuring it is preserved for generations to come.”

The British people have highly praised King Charles III for his unwavering work with the BFI during these last 45 years. The King has always watched over BFI’s sustainability in the last couple of decades. The BFI is more than proud of having the royal patronage from someone who cares a lot about the institute.
