The main suspect is a 19-year-old with a North Macedonian background, who had radicalized himself online, supporting the Islamic State. An additional 17-year-old suspect from Vienna was also detained. He had been previously hired by a company that was set to provide services at the Ernst Happel Stadium, the concert venue for Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” in the city.
The singer has not commented on the terrorist attack threats at her show, despite efforts from media outlets to get a statement from a spokesperson. She is scheduled to perform at Wembley Stadium in London for five dates, closing out the European leg of her tour. It has been reported that these shows will go as planned, with security increasing after the recent threats.
