Billboard recently unveiled their “70 Top LGBTQ+ Anthems of All Time” with Billie Eilish and Lady Gaga included. Just in time for Pride Month, this list celebrates queer-defining songs, and it’s notably topped by Gaga’s track, “Born This Way.” This was one of the first mainstream songs to include the word “trans” in its lyrics.
Securing the runner-up spot is Frank Ocean’s “Chanel,” an ode to pansexuality. Brandi Carlie’s “The Joke” gets third place in a lineup full of surprises, which pays homage to both classics and more recent songs. For example, Dianna Ross’s “I’m Coming Out” and Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” are blending with current hits like “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappel Roan and “Lunch” by Billie Eilish.”
