“Well, he would if he behaved himself,” Queen Camilla playfully expressed in front of guests.
This lively update comes after insights from King Charles’ nephew, Peter Philips, who had an interview with Sky News Australia in March. During their talk, he said that the monarch has been recovering slowly and that he couldn’t wait to get back into the royal spotlight. Here’s what he said:
“I think, ultimately, he’s hugely frustrated. He’s frustrated that he can’t get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. But he is very pragmatic, [and] he understands that there’s a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself.”
Fast forward to now: King Charles seems to be winning the battle against cancer, as he has slowly returned to the royal limelight. The King’s summer agenda has been packed with different commitments, including a visit from the Emperor and Empress of Japan and his first overseas appearance in months for the commemorations of the D-Day Landings, taking place in France on June 6.
While some of these commitments had to be rescheduled due to the UK’s election, Queen Camilla and King Charles have definitely proved how resilience and a touch of humor can go a long way in getting back to your job!
