This April 23rd is a very important day for Kate Middleton and Prince William as they celebrate the 6th birthday of their son Louis, but they also received new important appointments from King Charles III, who, despite being undergoing treatment for cancer, remains active in his duties.
Kate Midleton, 42, made history when she was named by King Charles III, Royal Companion of the Order of the Companions of Honor, the first woman in the history of this order, which recognizes outstanding achievements in the arts, sciences, medicine, and public service.
For William, it was also an important day as his father, the current monarch, named him ‘Grand Master of the Most Honorable Order of Bath‘, a position that has much sentimental value for the future king as this position was held from 1974 to 2022 by Charles III before he ascended the throne.
These appointments demonstrate the king’s trust and appreciation for his son William and mostly for his daughter-in-law; even royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told People, “He has always had a very good bond with her. I don’t think it is presumptuous to say that she is like the daughter he never had”.
