The Royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, had everyone over the cliff because of the excerpts from her new book, “My Mother and I.” The book unveils numerous secrets from the royal family, which are beyond intriguing, and shocking. How different life would have been if Princess Diana had canceled her wedding to King Charles III last minute?
The late Princess Diana showed her discontent several times because the then-Prince Charles didn’t pay enough attention to her. Lady Diana Spencer was invited to a party at Windsor Castle to celebrate Prince Andrew’s 21st birthday, where she immediately knew her frianceé didn’t want to stay close to her, despite being in America for most of the previous week.
“Feeling emotionally drained, she threw herself into dancing frantically with one man after another, and finally just dancing by herself.”
After the party, Princess Diana arrived at her father’s home feeling angry and had no intention of ever going back again. Earl Spencer ultimately convinced her not to cancel her wedding to King Charles III and to keep trying to be inside the royal family.
“After calming her down, he pointed out it would be an act of gross discourtesy to break off her engagement to the future King so close to the wedding, She couldn’t deny that she still wanted to be the Princess of Wales. She was young enough still to believe in happy endings, despite what her instincts had told her on that terrible night.”
King Charles III and Princess Diana ultimately married in July 1981 and got divorced in 1996 because Lady Diana Spencer deeply inside knew her marriage wouldn’t work even if she tried to. This might be one of the most shocking revelations in the “My Mother and I” book, which is going to be available on February 15, 2024.
