Prince Philip was widely known because of his bad temper and rude attitude towards some of the royal members. However, he allegedly had a major feud with Meghan Markle joining the royal family after marrying Prince Harry. He even had a disgusting name for her.
The royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, is set to release a new book, “My Mother and I,” where she reveals how the late Prince Philip liked to refer to Meghan Markle. The Prince started calling Markle the “Duchess of Windsor” about the “disgraced” American socialité Wallis Simpson, who married Edward VIII in 1937 after he abdicated the British throne due to controversies.
According to Seward, Philip allegedly thought how “uncanny” Markle reminded him of Wallis Simpson because she was also a divorced woman before she met Prince Harry back in 2016.
“He wasn’t simply referring to the fact that both were pencil-slim, dark-haired, and glamorous American divorcées.”
On the other hand, the late Queen Elizabeth II was nicer about Markle joining the royal family in 2017. However, she also expressed her discontent with Meghan’s wedding dress because it was too white, despite her having already married before. All those bad comments, including the ones exposed in Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare” made the royal marriage settle in California in 2020.
Surprisingly, this decision resembles Edward VII’s decision to abdicate the throne and flee to France with Wallis Simpson after they fell in love. Even though, the “Duchess of Windsor” was completely rude to a new member of the royal family as many royal followers stated on social media.
