In recent days, the famous rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion have been getting much attention, as the two artists seem to be fighting through music by singing some verses that are related to each other, evoking rumors of a feud between them and making many wonder what’s going on between them.
However, the rappers used to be so close, as the two made a successful collaboration in 2019 with a song titled ‘Hot Girl Summer‘ after an unexpected and exciting first meeting during an Instagram Live in which she shared her love for Nicki’s legacy.
With the gowing popularity of the 28-year-old rapper, many artists wanted to work with her, even the alleged rival of Nicki, Cardi B, who finally released the worldwide hit song ‘WAP‘ with Thee Stallion in August 2020, which generated rumors of an alleged fight between Megan and Minaj.
At the end of 2020, the Stallion seemed to be getting away from her friends while praising Cardi for their song. Minaj stopped following her on Instagram at the beginning of next year, making fans think they’re not friends anymore and waiting for messages through their music by the time Minaj released ‘Seeing Green‘ where she raps:
“One Margarita pizza with Parmesan and garlic. These b***hes thirsty; I can see why they alcoholics“.
In ‘Queen Radio‘, Minaj shared stories of a woman who did not support her pregnancy and even suggested her to abort. She revealed this person tried to apologize with flowers, but she “didn’t even let them s***s in muthaf****in’ house“. In the same show, she made many references to an emerging female rapper she supported but was betrayed by.
In March 2023, the ‘Supper Bass’ rapper released ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze‘, which had many darts for Meghan, but the most strong was the verse “That .40 cal a make ’em dance like a go-go“, referencing when Tory Lanez shot Thee Stallion on her foot as he was yelling at her “Dance, bitch!” while shooting.
The most recent hit in the reappers fight was the January 26th Megan song ‘Hiss‘, in which she said, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law“, which is a federal law that enforces that information regarding registered sex offenders to be public, referencing Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender.
Hours later, Nicki shared a preview of her new song ‘Big Foot‘, which was fully released on January 29th, with verses such as “Bad b*** she like six foot, I call her, ‘Big Foot’ / The b**** fell off, I said, Get up on your good foot“, referencing Megan’s height and her Tory Lanez incident.
Nicki Minaj also makes reference to Thee Stallion’s late mother, who died in 2019 due to a brain tumor, with the verse “Lying on your dead momma“. Although this quick response seems to start a rap war, there has not been any answer from Megan since now.
