One of the cases that has moved the United States and the entire world is that of young Gipsy Rose Blanchard, who was recently released after spending more than 10 years in prison following the murder of her mother. Gipsy’s story is more than just a case of real fear, as it is a story that has been reflected several times in film productions and books that explore human psychology, as well as the dramatized story of the young woman who is now free.
Gypsy Rose Blanchars regrets having committed the crime against her mother.
“I’m ready for freedom,” she told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview shortly before her release.
Gypsy testified in court that she convinced Godejohn, an online acquaintance, to murder her mother. According to court documents, Godejohn was found guilty of first-degree murder in 2019 and given a life sentence without the possibility of release. Since then, Godejohn and Gypsy have parted ways.
Gypsy now says her mother didn’t “deserve” her ultimate fate.
“She was a sick woman, and unfortunately I wasn’t educated enough to see that,” Gypsy told PEOPLE. “She deserved to be where I am, sitting in prison doing time for criminal behavior.”
On the other hand, Gypsy’s life has apparently improved a lot since her release from prison as she had the opportunity to spend the Christmas and New Year’s holidays with her husband and close family members, she has also become an Internet presence with more than 6 million followers on Instagram, a TikTok channel, which already has millions of followers, and apparently more than $3 million in her bank account, following the publication of her story.
What do you think about it? What do you think Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s life will be like now that she is out of prison?
