Top 4: Korean acts honored at Billboard Women in Music with BLACKPINK’s Jennie, aespa & more

The Billboard Women in Music Awards will celebrate names like BLACKPINK’s Jennie and aespa next month. But this isn’t the first time! So far, a select group of Korean female acts have made history at this prestigious event, proving K-pop’s unstoppable global impact. From legendary groups to a powerful soloist, here are the four Korean artists who have earned recognition at Billboard:

1. TWICE – 2023 Breakthrough Award

TWICE, one of the biggest girl groups in the world, was honored with the Breakthrough Award at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music event. Known for their infectious hits and global presence, TWICE’s recognition marked a major milestone for K-pop girl groups.

2. NJZ (Formerly NewJeans) – 2024 Group of the Year

NewJeans took the K-pop industry by storm with their fresh Y2K-inspired sound and aesthetic. In 2024, Billboard recognized them with the Group of the Year award, acknowledging their massive global success in such a short period of time.

3. Jennie (BLACKPINK) – 2025 Global Force Award

On March 29, 2025, Jennie will make history as the first Korean soloist to receive the Global Force Award at Billboard Women in Music. The “Mantra” singer has recently returned to the solo spotlight and will release her anticipated debut album “Ruby” on March 7, 2025, just in time to receive the honor at the ceremony.

4. aespa – 2025 Group of the Year

Set to be honored at the March, 29, 2025 event, aespa will receive the Group of the Year award, following in the footsteps of NJZ. With their futuristic concept, powerful performances, and experimental tracks, aespa continue to push boundaries in K-pop.
