On April 9, NewJeans and ADOR clashed again at Seoul Central District Court. The closed-door session lasted under 10 minutes, and there was not much information revealed. NewJeans was contesting the injunction issued on March 21, which bans the members from pursuing any entertainment activities without ADOR’s approval.
Chief Judge Kim Sang Hoon presided over the Court’s 50th Civil Division. The hearing took place on April 9, 2025, and this time, the NewJeans members and guardians didn’t make an appearance, as attendance wasn’t mandatory. Instead, their legal teams took charge and remained quiet after the hearing, with ADOR’s attorney revealing no major changes since the ruling took effect.
The current legal ruling stops NewJeans from performing, releasing new songs, and going into social media, which they attempted to do after leaving ADOR last year. In addition, they changed their name to NJZ and rebranded their image with a concert at ComplexCon in Hong Kong. However, they were forced to hold back thanks to the ruling.
