G-Dragon has always been the talk of the town for all the wrong and right reasons. This time, the idol is in the highlight of the Kpop scene for his amazing comeback with “TOO BAD” and his recent declarations about receiving gifts from devoted fans.
For decades, it has become a common practice among fans to show appreciation for their favorite idols by bringing them gifts with the hopes of meeting them. The practice in the Kpop scene has become notorious since fans give gifts ranging from food to luxury items worth thousands of dollars.
However, some idols don’t feel comfortable receiving all these gifts, and they end up refusing to accept them. G-Dragon was the pioneer of this trend after an unreleased video dating back to 2011.
“I would like to carefully ask something of you all. Respectfully, I will not be accepting gifts for my birthday this time. My fans’ warm hearts are more than enough, so please celebrate and send me your love instead.”
Afterwards, G-Dragon told fans they should donate instead of giving fan fights, which ended up donating $5600 to charity in honor of G-Dragon’s birthday. What an amazing initiative for all those who are in need!
