Jeon Somi is making headlines, but not for new music. Fans have been voicing frustration over her lack of releases, and now, the idol herself has weighed in with a heartfelt comment that reveals frustration behind her career.
It all started when a fan on TikTok pointed out that she’s been waiting in THEBLACKLABEL’s building “for her peak years” while barely releasing music. Instead of ignoring it, Somi replied, “To be exact, started at the age of 12… But yeah, ouch.” The comment instantly went viral, with fans arguing she deserves more recognition.

Jeon Somi was first introduced to the public via the reality show Produce 101 in 2016, where the group I.O.I was formed. Somi quickly became a fan-favorite among the members, however after the group ended their activities in early 2017, the K-pop diva left JYP and joined THEBLACKLABEL. Unfortunately, her music releases have been sparse with a lot of silence in between songs.
And while the “Fast Forward” has deleted her frustrated comment, one thing’s for sure—both she and her fans agree that she isn’t just any K-pop idol, she’s a powerhouse waiting to shine.
