Min Hee Jin scores a court win amid legal battle with HYBE’s ADOR for NJZ

Min Hee Jin clinched a crucial victory on March 19, amid her legal feud with HYBE’s ADOR over NJZ (formerly NewJeans). A Seoul court ruled in her favor against malicious commenters, ordering them to pay compensation, an issue that first exploded in April 2023, triggering speculation in the K-pop industry.

Min Hee Jin filed multiple lawsuits to protect her name. Initially, she demanded up to 3 million KRW per defendant, but the court lowered that amount. The fines now range from 50,000 to 100,000 KRW, marking a win for the former CEO. However, this court showdown is not over just yet, as Min Hee Jin is still battling her removal from ADOR in August 2023. Her removal partially led to NJZ’s plans to terminate their contracts with HYBE’s ADOR and their current rebrand.

Meanwhile, the legal feud continues, with another court hearing taking place on April 3. Despite the legal issues, NJZ is trying to move forward with a revamped image and a new team. The quintet will be performing at ComplexCon in Hong Kong on March 23. Still, it looks like the ultimate verdict is coming for both MIn Hee Jin and NJZ later this year.
