NewJeans isn’t just changing their name! Now officially known as NJZ, the “Attention” singers are pushing forward with trademarks covering music, fashion, and even home goods. As revealed by K-media outlet OSEN on March 18, NJZ filed trademark applications for two logos and a symbol on February 6—one day before publicly announcing their new group name. This move comes amid their ongoing contract legal feud with HYBE’s ADOR.
The trademarks span 10 product categories, from CDs and clothing to mats and fragrances. In K-pop, mats often double as collectible cushions, and lighting equipment hints at a future NJZ light stick. Notably, all five members—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—are listed as applicants. Their legal procedures are being handled by Shin & Kim LLC, the firm also representing them in their legal battle against HYBE’s ADOR.
Even amid their feud, the group is pushing ahead with new content and a new music era. They’re set to perform at the ComplexCon fashion and culture festival in Hong Kong from March 21 to 23. They’ve also revamped their online presence, launching new accounts on X, YouTube, and TikTok, giving fans a fresh era to look forward to in the middle of their legal drama.
