Queen Camilla Parker and King Charles III are the perfect example of a supportive couple. Since King Charles III’s diagnosis last year, she has become his companion, including on overseas royal tours. However, the King’s diagnosis has made her a little bit anxious.
On March 12, A royal aide revealed to Newsweek how the Queen of the United Kingdom balanced public duties while privately supporting King Charles III after his cancer diagnosis. The revelations were shocking for some royal followers.
“It was exhausting. It would have been draining for a woman half her age. She had to undertake public duties… and yet not be able to show the slightest flicker of vulnerability.”
The aide also recalled Camilla’s visit to a London cancer centre on January 31, 2024, just days before Buckingham Palace publicly announced Charles’ diagnosis. At the time, Camilla knew her husband’s diagnosis, but she maintained her composure, and the aide highlighted the Queen’s “resilience.”
