Kim Kardashian recently tried to snag a piece of her family’s past: a Bible originally belonging to O.J. Simpson and inscribed by her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr. She placed a USD 15,000 bid, expecting to secure the religious text. However, Simpson’s estate shot down her offer because the item had already been sold through Goldin Auctions.

Executor Malcolm LaVergne explained that approving Kardashian’s offer made no financial sense for Simpson’s estate. He noted they’d have considered a bigger bid, like USD 150,000, however, 15,000 was not enough to make a deal. LeVergne clarified the reasons, saying:
“The amount is why I had no choice, because why would I spend USD 15,000 of estate money, why would I spend USD 15,000 in attorney’s fees, to sell it to Kim for USD 15,000?”
The Bible, gifted to Simpson in June 1994, features a heartfelt note from Robert Kardashian Sr. urging O.J. to find comfort and guidance in faith during his trial. Bidding remains open until March 30, so Kim still has a chance to compete for the text at Goldin Auctions. For now, this piece will be seeing the auction spotlight.
