“Mickey 17” reaches a new milestone at the Korean Box Office

Bong Joon Ho’s new film, “Mickey 17,” has met unprecedented success at the Korean box office. The K-Netizens and critics have agreed in showing their admiration and profound love to the movie, and the numbers are just a metric to prove it.

On March 9, the Korean Film Council announced that “Mickey 17” had recorded a total of 2,001,220 moviegoers. Beyond shocking, the movie managed to reach the milestone in less than 10 years, becoming the fastest movie released in 2025 to achieve the feat.

On top of that, “Mickey 17” has remained No. 1 at the box office ever since its release in Korea on February 28. Ultimately, the movie topped the Korean box office for nine days straight.
