The dispute between K-pop group NJZ (formerly NewJeans) and their label ADOR has intensified, with both sides going through a legal feud. NJZ accused ADOR of trying to block their entertainment activities, while the label insists they only want to move forward together.
ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE, claims their legal actions were meant to uphold NJZ’s existing contract, preventing them from signing independent advertisement deals. However, NJZ said that these decisions from the label are an attempt to stall their careers. Despite the ongoing dispute, NJZ recently announced new music and overseas performances, which provoked HYBE’s ADOR legal response.
Key court dates are now set: ADOR’s lawsuit challenging NJZ’s contract termination will be heard on April 3, while the injunction review regarding NJZ’s music activities is scheduled for March 7. Amid these legal tensions, the quintet is set to perform at ComplexCon Hong Kong on March 21-23, where they will supposedly drop a new track.
